and become aware of God's presence within and around you. They are suitable both for people who go on retreats regularly and for those who have never been on one before but are looking for a Christian holiday.

Most of our retreat-holidays last a week. There is half an hour of input in the morning, giving you thoughts for the day and a Bible passage or two to mull over. The themes and texts relate in some way to our surroundings. There is usually an excursion on three or four days of the week (sometimes more). Then, in the evening before dinner, we have half an hour together to reflect on the day and to pray together.

Retreat-Holidays with a difference
Two of our retreat-holidays in 2008 follow a slightly different pattern:
The first is our September 2008 CREATIVE WRITING retreat in Brittany, on the theme "Footprints, Memories and Photographs". This week is suitable for both complete beginners and more experienced writers seeking a safe place to play and experiment with words.
The other retreat-holiday with a difference is our November 2008 BODY, MIND AND SPIRIT retreat in the French Alps, which combines a retreat on the Living Water and healing with 45 spa treatments for your aches and pains and, if you want it, some spa-related French tuition. This retreat will be led by Dr Stephanie Rybak who, as well as being the director of Retreat-Holidays, has several times experienced the benefits of French spas for herself and is also the author of a dozen French courses.
Our other destinations for 2008 are listed in the menu (top left of this page). Most of them take place outside school holidays, in order to keep costs down, but we have responded to requests from teachers by scheduling one of our retreat-holidays in SALAMANCA, Spain, for August 2008. The theme will be "Wisdom".
We have now added to the website our Caribbean destinations for 2009. The people who came to ANTIGUA with us in 2008 loved it, so we shall be going again in January 2009. We are also offering a new two-island stay, combining three nights on ANTIGUA with 11 nights on DOMINICA , where our retreat house is in the middle of a rainforest.
Our retreat-holidays are primarily designed for people travelling from the UK, but we are very happy to welcome English-speaking clients from other countries and to discuss with them the most convenient way for them to come and join us.
We can also arrange individually guided retreats in Malta, Dublin or Antigua at dates to suit you, subject to availability.

We regret that we are unable to accept the responsibility of looking after people who know before they travel that they have serious problems of health or mobility.
