Antigua Individually Guided Retreats

Zigzag wavesIndividually guided retreats (IGRs) are a wonderful opportunity to deepen your relationship with God by facing up to the real challenges in your life, supported by a retreat guide / retreat director / soul friend. There is a great deal more explanation about them on the "Individually guided retreats" page of the website - follow the link below.

Mount Tabor retreat centreWe can arrange individually guided retreats (IGRs) at Mount Tabor Retreat Centre on the Caribbean island of Antigua, at dates to suit you, subject to availability. On an IGR, you have one session a day with your director, who listens to you and makes suggestions for what you do over the next 24 hours. Then it's up to you and the Holy Spirit!

Sr Mary Jo

Individually Guided Retreats at Mount Tabor can be in the Ignatian style - for an explanation of that, follow the first link below. Alternatively, the Director of the house, Sr Mary Jo, is an artist, and she also enjoys helping people who wish to explore painting and prayer.

Dates

The dates for individually guided retreats can be arranged to suit you, subject to availability. The official hurricane season is from June to November, so we recommend that, if possible, you go outside this period. As the flights are so long, we suggest you stay for more than a week if you can.

You are welcome to stay at the retreat house for a week's retreat and a few days' holiday if you wish.

Prices

Flights

The usual route is Gatwick to Antigua, usually on BA or Virgin Atlantic. You should book as far ahead as you can.

The flight usually takes between eight and nine hours, so this trip is not for anyone frail. The house does not have a lift and, although the bedrooms are very comfortable, they are all on the first floor. The terrain in Antigua is generally fairly rough.
