Retreat-Holidays
Antigua: Mount Tabor

Mount Tabor was purpose-built as a retreat centre for the 21st century.
It is new, clean and very comfortable, built on a hill, as you would expect from the name, and it has breathtaking views.

The Director of Mount Tabor Retreat Centre is Sister Mary Jo McKeefry SSL (Sister of St Louis). As well as working with groups, she directs individually guided retreats. She is an artist and would be delighted if anyone wished to do a "painting and prayer" week with her, on an individually guided basis.
Mary Jo's surprising range of skills also includes Indian head massage, which she offers at £10 for a half-hour session.
There are ten guest bedrooms in the house at Mount Tabor. Most of them are twin rooms, but there is NO SUPPLEMENT for single occupancy. All the rooms are comfortable and have ceiling fans and good en suite shower rooms.

A further three rooms are available in a new cottage in the grounds.

The public rooms of the house are a chapel, a kitchen, a dining room and a sitting room (pictured).

They have some fine African and Caribbean artwork.

There is space for sitting out in the grounds, meditating and enjoying the view - and there is also the rather romantic ruin of an old sugar mill.
We offer half-board at Mount Tabor, with predominantly Caribbean cuisine; guests are asked to help with the washing up. Filtered water, tea and coffee are available throughout the day and there is a guests' fridge for you to keep drinks and snacks cool. You can also make use of the washing machine. If you take your laptop with you, wifi internet access is available free of charge.
