Dublin: Individually Guided Retreats
at the Emmaus Centre,
Swords, near Dublin
Welcome to tranquillity!
The Emmaus Centre is situated on the edge of the historic village of Swords, just outside Dublin. The grounds are extensive and lovely and - this being Ireland - mostly very green. They are a great place to walk and meditate and be aware of the presence of God in creation.

The centre has recently been refurbished to a high standard. The chapels, common rooms, dining rooms and seating areas have all been renovated with the same care. Internet access is available in all bedrooms if you have brought your own laptop or via a house computer at a modest charge.
The bedrooms have the feel of a good hotel, with high quality furnishings and very comfortable beds.
Emmaus has a shop selling sweets, a few toiletries, books, cards, CDs and gifts.

The house is under the patronage of the Christian Brothers and the Sisters of the Holy Faith.
The Retreats director, who acts as retreat guide for many individually guided retreats, is Sister Vera Magee.
There is a detailed explanation of what individually guided retreats are on another page of the website - follow the link below.
Massage and other therapies are available in the Therapy room at reasonable prices. They are an excellent way of helping you to unwind and so to benefit even more from your retreat.

Prices
The cost of living in Ireland is high and the price of retreats at Emmaus reflects that, so we consider this to be primarily an option for people who do not want to travel far or who wish to make a weekend retreat. Depending on dates and departure airport chosen, prices for 3 nights' full board are from £679. There is NO SINGLE SUPPLEMENT.
What is included:
Return flights and taxes from the UK; en suite room; full board; daily one-to-one sessions with a retreat guide.
What is not included:
Travel between home and UK airport; fare-increases due to dates and airport chosen; taxis between airport and retreat house (£10-15 each way); any other taxis; drinks; personal expenses; fuel surcharges; any increase in Air Passenger Duty after 17 July 2009; telephone; excursions; insurance: valid insurance is obligatory. Pilgrim Travel can offer insurance cover, subject to conditions - ask for a quote.

There are flights to Dublin from many different UK airports, including Aberdeen, Birmingham, Blackpool, Bristol, Doncaster, Durham, East Midlands, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leeds-Bradford, Liverpool, London-Gatwick, London-Luton, London-Stansted, Manchester and Newcastle.
Accessibility
There are wheelchair accessible rooms in the house. Because the grounds are so extensive, you don't need to go out of them, so this would be a good option for someone with restricted mobility. Do let us know before booking if you have problems of health or mobility.
