Our base in Italy is a wonderful location up in
the Alban Hills south-east
of Rome, with a majestic view across Lake Albano.
The local area is known
as the Castelli Romani,
the Roman Castles. It includes Frascati, Grottaferrata, Marino Rocca di Papa, Genzano,
Ariccia and Monteporzio. Shown here is the Pope's summer residence at
Castelgandolfo, just
across the lake from
where we shall be staying.
Our excursions on the November retreat-holiday will include visits to the local area and also to Rome, the San Callisto catacombs and the Tivoli water gardens.
And the place we shall be staying? It is the incomparable Villa Palazzola, set into the hillside with a breathtaking view of the lake. Ask almost anyone who has been there and they'll tell you how lovely it is! Follow the links below for more information.
