Standards are high in the better hotels of Northern Cyprus and we inspected several which were impressive. However, the five-star Vuni Palace Hotel in Kyrenia (Girne in Turkish) seems to us to have the edge and we are confident that our clients will appreciate it too.
It is situated right by the sea, with a private beach, and there is a complimentary shuttle service running into the centre of Kyrenia.
The hotel is luxurious without being pretentious and the service is both friendly and efficient. There is free wifi in the public areas.
The bedrooms are all spacious and extremely comfortable - no broom cupboards for singles!
All the rooms have balconies, most with a sea view.
The food is excellent and is presented in a buffet, so that you can see what you are choosing - and don't have to wait for it.
The hotel has a new spa, offering a variety of treatments. Use of the indoor swimming pool, the sauna and the steam room are free to hotel guests; there is a charge for other treatments such as massage. The outdoor swimming pool is unlikely to be usable in March.
