Oberammergau Passion Play 2010
In 1633, the people of Oberammergau were dying of the plague. In desperation, those still alive swore an oath: if they would spared, they and their descendents would perform the “Play of the Suffering, Death and Resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ” every ten years, in perpetuity. Down the centuries, they have kept their oath and 2010 will see the 41st production of their amazing Passion Play.
None of the actors in the play is a professional: they are all ordinary local people acting out their faith. Almost anyone who has ever been to the Passion Play in Oberammergau has been deeply moved by the experience. In a strange way, the fact that it is in German means that, for most of the audience, language is bypassed and the impact is directly on the heart. 
If you are thinking of going to Oberammergau in 2010, you would do well to book quickly – if you wait until places are sold out, your next opportunity won’t come until 2020!

Price:
£1349 + fuel surcharge (deposit £550)
Single room supplement: £159 for the Tyrol. There may be single rooms available in Oberammergau for the August dates, but there are none left for September, so solo travellers will have to share a room for the two nights there.
