Retreat-Holidays
Poland
This retreat-holiday offers a unique and exciting opportunity to see something of Poland off the beaten track - and to do so in comfort. We shall be staying in Kaszuby or Kashubia, "the land of a thousand lakes", in northern Poland.

We have discovered a really lovely, peaceful holiday and recreation centre run by the Apostleship of the Sea. Its situation is fantastic: on the edge of a lake and a forest and yet just 40 minutes from Gdańsk airport.

The seven kilometres of forest offer delightful, easy walking along the shore of the lake (Raduñskie Dolne), which is 20 kilometres in length.

We shall also be visiting the nearby city of Gdańsk.

If your picture of Gdańsk is just one of strikers and shipyards, you will be most agreeably surprised to find it is a vibrant, cosmopolitan city full of cultural treasures...

... like this softly coloured wall-painting in the Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
June has the most reliably good weather of the year in Kashubia. The average high temperature for the month is 19°C / 66°F. In June 2008, some of our party swam in the lake (and more than once!) - others found the water too cold.
