Turkish gulet: the Prenses Begüm
The Prenses Begüm is a lovely 26-metre wooden ketch built in 2003 to a very high standard. She is captained by her owner who named her after his daughter Begüm, his little "princess".
The boat is designed to take 16 passengers. Our parties will be smaller (9 people in October 2008) so there will be plenty of space. On deck, there are both sunbeds and shade.

Statistics: the boat's engine is 440hp; her cruising speed is 11 knots; her fuel capacity is 3 tons and her clean water capacity 4 tons.

The eight guest cabins are all double or twin - but there is NO SUPPLEMENT for single occupancy. All the cabins are en suite and, unlike the shower-rooms on most gulets, they have proper shower cubicles rather than showers that soak the loo and everything else! The participants on the retreat-holiday in October 2008 said that the cabins were much more luxurious than they were expecting from the photograph below.
Food and drink
All meals are included. The food is wonderful: Turkish and copious. One of the good things about it is that a range of dishes is served at every meal, so if you don't like one dish there are always plenty of others.
Vegetarians are well catered for (as long as we are notified in advance) Meals are normally served on deck but there is also a dining table in the saloon. Drinks are reasonably priced. A tab is kept and you pay at the end of the week.

The gulet tends to get booked up a long time in advance - we took our first booking for October 2009 in September 2008 - so we advise you to book early as there are only eight guest cabins, one of which will be occupied by the leader.
