Dropping anchorGratuities
Tipping is a personal thing, but one needs to be aware that it is very much part of the culture in Turkey to tip someone if they give good service - this is especially the case on gulets, where, the norm is for the group leader to collect up the gratuities and to give them to the captain of the boat to share out with the crew.

Clients have asked us to recommend how much to give: we suggest £40 per passenger to cover gratuities for the crew of the gulet and the minibus drivers who take us to and from the airport.

SeagullFlights

We are asking people to buy their own air tickets for this holiday.  For 2012, the flight timetables have not all been confirmed yet, but we hope to find compatible departures from Heathrow and Manchester.

We will tell you the details of the flights to book so that we all arrive in Dalaman at roughly the same time, in order to facilitate the transfer to the boat.

Arrangements are subject to change.

Accessibility

This is a traditional style of boat with steep steps and low ceilings. To go swimming, you need to step over the rail and go down the steps shown below, which have two rungs under the water.

GoatsThe minimum requirement is mobility and ability to swim, rather than the agility of a mountain goat! We do not recommend this retreat-holiday for anyone with a medical condition which might require rapid hospitalisation, but fit clients in their late 70s have very much enjoyed their week on the gulet.

All arrangements are subject to change.
